An Update on Upland Brewery’s Expansion

Hey everyone. Here’s some news in regard to our expansion. We’ve teamed up with Blueline Style and Media to help integrate our special Upland events page to a new website being built by Young and Laramore, and to also help document our expansion.  Check out some of these photos by Blueline.

UplandExpansionInstabarrelsinsta There are going to be all kinds of good times. We’re excited to see all the changes that will be taking place over the next couple of weeks. We’ll also have a section in our Facebook Photos that is dedicated entirely to photos like these.

Also, we’re still taking resumes for a brewer position because of our expansion, so if you think you’ve got what it takes to brew some fine tasting treats, please send your resume to caleb@upland beer.com.

We’re looking forward to seeing you soon! Cheers!

Upland Expansion News

Hey Upland friends! Now that the holidays are behind us, we wanted to give you an update on Upland Brewing Co’s Expansion.  Two weeks ago JV Northwest delivered to us a new 150-BBL fermenter and another 150-BBL bright tank – yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! The new tanks were named Gamara and Billy Squier, for reasons only Caleb can explain.
A little change in our plans for a new production brewery: for a host of reasons that ultimately resolve to economics, we sold our original site on Grimes and acquired another facility located on the west side of town, near the Cook headquarters and GE Appliances. We are sad to leave the B-Line location, but this new site is already geared to support industrial activity, and we’ll be able to pour the savings into a new sours-only brewery on our existing 11th Street site.
We have a completely new brewhouse on order, as well as additional fermenters and conditioning tanks.  We’ll have the capacity to brew over 18,000 BBLs when we move in May, with space to expand above 40,000 BBLs over time.
We’re excited about the changes taking place around here and our goal is to continuously create some of Indiana’s best craft beer.

Meet Gamera and Billy Squier Aka Fermenter and Beer Tank

DSC07077 Gigantor, the 150 bbl fermentation tank we installed in November 2010, isn’t the only big boy in the brewery anymore. This week, we’ve added a new 150 bbl fermentation tank and a 150 bbl conditioning tank to the brewery. Like Gigantor, both of these tanks are too tall for the brewery, so their tops stick out through the roof. Allow us to introduce!

Meet Gamera and Billy Squier Aka Fermenter and Beer Tank

That being said, we’ve been working on expanding and here are two significant additions to our team! Meet our new Fermenter, Gamera, and Beer Tank, Billy Squier.
We promise you will get to know them well, as they will be assisting us this next year in our expansion and beer deliciousness!
