The Hillbilly Haiku Americana Music Series consists of an annual outdoor concert hosted by Upland Brewing Co. to raise money for Sycamore Land Trust and celebrate music, community, the natural beauty of southern Indiana, and let’s not forget, great beer! All proceeds from the concert’s ticket, food, and beverage sales benefit SLT, and through them, southern Indiana’s endangered landscape. Every year, we seek to bring the most talented musicians to Bloomington to join locals and travelers from across the Midwest in celebrating and supporting this worthy cause.
This year’s concert will be held on Fri., Sept. 3rd and headlined by Todd Snider, whom Alanna Nash writes “can always be counted on to deliver a brilliant spitball of humor and satire, shot across a classroom devoted to John Prine, Randy Newman, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, and the Rolling Stones.” Todd Snider will be supported by TV Mike and the Scarecrows, a California-based band with Indiana roots, and local favorite, The Elly Maze.
Food, including vegetarian options, will be available, along with several Upland brews and other beverages.
The concert is held outdoors on the Upland Brewery grounds at 350 W. 11th St., Bloomington, IN.
Tickets are general admission, and though comfortable straw bales will be available for seating, everyone is welcome to bring blankets and camping chairs.
The concert starts at 6pm, and doors open at 5pm.
Tickets will be sold at the gate, but can be bought in advance at Upland’s Bloomington Tap Room, Indy Tasting Room, the Buskirk Chumley Theatre, and online at buskirkchumley.org. Tickets are $20 through Aug. 31, and $25 Sept. 1-3. Food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase inside the gate.
