Ever dream of having your beer brewed in a real brew house? We’re hosting our annual UpCup Homebrew Competition and AHA rally on May 15th, and we want your home brew! The winner will receive a trophy, work with Caleb to brew his recipe in our brew house, and have his brew entered in competitions, including the Great American Beer Fest Pro-Am

I don’t see the entry deadline or event date anywhere? What are the dates?
Thanks
wow – i reread the post four times before I saw the May 15 event date. Sorry about that.
Will entries get to see the judges comments or get any other type of feedback?
The judges’ comments will be available immediately after the event, or we can mail them to you if you can’t make it for some reason. Cheers!
Is there a formal way to volunteer to judge? I think we’ve talked with Caleb about coming down, but don’t want to miss out if that didn’t happen.
Hi Ben,
Ron Smith is acting as the Judge Coordinator for us. If you need his contact info, email Caleb (caleb@uplandbeer.com).
Can Indy participants drop entries off at the Upland Tasting room? It’d be the greenest option to reduce shipping emissions.
Good question and point Ian!
Ian,
That is a very good point. Unfortunately, our Tasting Room doesn’t have much extra storage space, and even less extra cold storage space. We’re able to keep everything in one refrigerated environment in Bloomington, so in the interests of storing everyone’s beer cold and keeping track of all the entries, please send your entry to us at the brewery in Bloomington.
It states “One entry per homebrewer,” now does that mean one and only one entry? Or the homebrewer can have multiple entries, but only one entry per subcategory?
We’re looking for your single best brew, so that means one entry for the entire competition.
I would like to volunteer as a steward.
Sam,
Email me if you want to inquire about stewarding. caleb@uplandbeer.com
Cheers!
Well I just came across this. Is there any way to submit a beer for the comp? Let me know, thanks
We’ve got soft hearts for good beer, so we’ll extend the deadline to Wednesday the 12th.
