DESCRIPTION:Announcing a monthly comedy series in Columbus\, Indiana: Pump Up The Laughs! On the first Friday we will have a well-known comedian with special guests in the Upland Columbus Pump House basement event space. \nThe series kicks off on February 7 with Indiana’s own Brent Terhune! Named one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch for 2020\, Brent has accumulated more than 65 million views across his social media channels with his satirical MAGA character. His not-so-obvious delivery can be described along the lines of a ‘blue-collar Colbert Report.’ \nBrent has written daily topical jokes and news breakdowns for the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Show for over 10 years. He has a Dry Bar Comedy special and debuted two comedy albums at No. 1 on iTunes. \nShanda Sung\, a Bloomington favorite and regular at the Comedy Attic\, will be opening the show. She taped her first comedy special\, Pickles\, which is now out on YouTube. Her stand-up has been seen and enjoyed throughout the Midwest at clubs\, bars\, wineries\, and the occasional waffle restaurant. She was featured on the album On Tour Live from Bloomington\, and the premiere episode of the Vice network show Hunters. \nThere is a 7:00 and a 9:00 show. \nPlease Note – there is a two item minimum per person in the showroom. Item can be food or drink\, both of which are delicious at Upland. \nThis series is sponsored by the Office of Downtown Development with support from the Columbus Area Arts Council and Landmark Columbus Foundation.
