BLOOMINGTON (September 6, 2023) – Upland Brewing Company, a craft brewer with brewery and brewpub locations throughout Indiana, announces Black Orchid Barbers will open a new location within its College Avenue brewpub. Scheduled to open in October, the three-chair barber shop will be located on the first floor of the Upland Brewing Company in south Broad Ripple at 4842 College Ave.

While the partnership between Black Orchid Barbers and Upland Brewing Company marks the first barbershop/brewpub combination in the city, the pairing of the two brands may be familiar. The Black Orchid location in Carmel is housed in the same shopping center as Upland’s Carmel location, and leaders from the two businesses have been exchanging referrals and ideas for years.

“Upland and Black Orchid already have some synergy based on the proximity of our Carmel locations, and we’re excited to bring that to SoBro,” said Eddie DeSalle, Upland Brewing Company president. “Our College Avenue location will still have the space to serve those stopping in for a great meal or a beer. But now we can add a haircut to the list of possibilities here.”

Black Orchid Barbers has been in business since 2017 and currently has three other Indianapolis-area locations. Appointments are strongly recommended. Walk-in appointments are welcomed by chance only. The SoBro location will offer the same hours as other locations:

• Monday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Saturday, Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
