Upland Reopening Plans

The safety of our guests & employees is always our top priority. As the State of Indiana starts to lift restrictions for dining-in at restaurants, we’re making a number of changes & improvements to provide the safest dine-in experience possible.

In case you missed the Governor’s announcement 5/1, here is a link to the next steps for restaurants & businesses. The first step is opening at 50% capacity based on a date associated with the county where the restaurant resides. Bar seating is not available for the time being.

We take sanitation very seriously. Our efforts to maintain a safe environment includes but are not limited to:

  • Sanitizing high-touch areas such as door handles frequently
  • Sanitizing items between every customer use, including but not limited to: tables, pens, condiments, check presenters
  • Requiring all staff members to wear provided masks & gloves while at work
  • Using disposables for heavy-use items in certain instances such as menus
  • Placing a cover on all beverages for added protection as they move through the dining room

Upon reopening at a limited capacity, we will be requesting guests to make reservations to prevent crowding & unnecessary congregating.

If we reach capacity, we will move our host stand to greet you outside of the restaurant. While you wait for a table, we ask that you keep at least 6 feet distance from other customers. We will provide markers to indicate appropriate social distancing.

Distance Dining

All the tables will be spaced with at least 6 feet distance from other tables.

To prevent unnecessary contact between customers & staff, we will be providing “Table Talkers” for you. Flip it green side up when you are ready to place your order or have a question. Flip it to the red side to remain undisturbed while you’re enjoying your food & drink or perusing the menu. Table Talkers will be sanitized between customers.

Touchless Dining

Touchless Dining will be an option available at Bloomington Brewpub, Columbus Pump House, and Fountain Square Brewery. When you choose this option, you’ll use a QR code at your table to place and pay for your food & drink order online. The only contact with staff will be bringing food & beer out to your table.

Why can’t I get a beer while I wait?
We need to avoid congregating & crowding in our restaurants. This is based on recommendations from the State of Indiana. We look forward to the days of sipping beer & standing on the patio as much as you do, we assure you!

Can I sit at the bar?
The State of Indiana requires bar sections to remain closed at this time.

Why are there designated entries & exits?
Managing the flow of traffic will help folks arriving & leaving to maintain the recommended at least 6 feet of distance.

Do I need to wear a mask?
We don’t have any requirements set for guests but encourage all individuals to follow recommendations set by the CDC and State of Indiana.

Will you start to refill growlers?
Upon reopening, our locations will switch to allowing growler fills.
