The idea of collaborating on a beer with Upslope Brewery in Boulder, CO has been brewing for awhile and we were finally able to make it a reality just in time to have a beer ready to tap in Denver during this years Great American Beer Festival. Instead of just “doubling Up”, we also joined with Upright Brewery from Portland, OR and Upstate Brewery from Elmira, NY to unite four like-minded breweries from all over the country.
The result is “Up 4 It,” a Honey Pale Ale with local hops from Oregon, Colorado, and Indiana, with honey from New York, and 100% Colorado Malt. The Indiana hops were grown by our friends at Sugar Creek Hops in Thorntown.

After the brew, Upslope’s head brewer, Sam, gave me a tour of their main production facility and then we explored the beer scene around Boulder. Found a bottle of our co-collaborator Upright Brewery’s #6, a dark rye saison, at one of the bars for a perfect end to great trip to Boulder.

If you are in Denver for the Great American Beer Festival, look for “Up 4 It” Honey Pale Ale at Upslope’s two tasting rooms, and stop by Falling Rock Tap House in Denver for a special tapping party at 4pm on Wednesday 10/1. “Up 4 It” will also be on tap during Upslope’s tap take over at World of Beer on Thursday October 2nd from 4pm until midnight.
