Located in what was once the northside of Indianapolis, the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood is home to some of the most beautiful houses in Central Indiana. In the 1970s, the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association (MKNA) started the Home Tour to celebrate the beauty of this historic neighborhood.
On Friday, June 15, Upland will once again be a part of the Twilight Tour, the official opening of the Meridian Kessler Home Tour. We have sponsored the Home Tour since we moved into the neighborhood in 2010 and are proud to be a part of it once again. Held at the Basile Opera Center (4011 North Pennsylvania Street), the Twilight Tour begins at 6:00 pm and includes dinner and silent auction with proceeds going to the MKNA grant program that benefits and supports non-profit neighborhood organizations. Upland beer will be available for sale and 100% of the proceeds also go to support the MKNA grant program. There are also additional houses on the Twilight Tour that are not on the main Home Tour.
The Meridian-Kessler Home Tour is the longest and largest running tour of historic and older homes in Indiana. The neighborhood developed around the turn of the 20th century, and the styles of the homes range from elaborate updated mansions to bungalows and four squares. The Home Tour emphasizes and encourages the diversity of homes in this nationally recognized historic neighborhood.
