Meet Kayce; She’s a native Hoosier, lover of beer, and the winner of our first annual Mug Club Cook-Off! She joined our new Executive Chef Paddy in the kitchen this week to share her winning dish with us.
When did you join the Mug Club? 2 years ago. My husband and I have lived in Bloomington for about 10 years now and love it because of places like Upland.
What is your favorite Upland beer? Harvest Ale
What’s your favorite Upland event? “I love them all, but if I had to choose, my favorite so far has been the Vinyl Tap Release Party.”
What’s the name of your dish: Mimi’s Pasta Salad
And the inspiration behind it? It is my mother’s recipe and I have always loved it. It’s easy to make and served chilled, making it the perfect summer comfort food: because it is easy to make and is delicious served chilled. Not too good for you but it is delicious.

-A “virgin” mug pour. Bad Elmer will pick up the tab for your first beer. Unless you displease him. Ask your server or bartender for the official Mug Club Rules to find out what displeases Bad Elmer.

-Exclusive parties. Bad Elmer will host a Mug Club party at each of the four Upland locations three times a year, for a total of twelve parties a year. Bad Elmer enjoys a good party, and his event planners always make sure Bad Elmer gets what he wants. You will come to these parties, and you will have a raging good time. You will not argue about this, or about anything else, with Bad Elmer.
