Every year beginning in late September, more than 6 million people from all over the world show up in Munich for the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest. The 16-day festival features food, music, games, and of course, the pièce de résistance, beer! It’s certainly something every beer lover should experience, but don’t bum out too hard if you can’t make it to Germany this year. We’ve got you covered!
We’re transforming Military Park in Indianapolis into our very own Bavarian paradise for our second annual Upland Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 28th from 1-9pm! We’re bringing plenty of delicious Upland beer for you to enjoy out of 1-liter commemorative Oktoberfest steins. Also in attendance will be some of the best Indianapolis food trucks, including Der Pretzel Wagen, Cutie Pies Pizza, Big Ron’s Bistro, Taste of the Caribbean, Little Eataly, Nicey Treat, and The Flying Cupcake.
It wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without polka, but don’t make the mistake of thinking Chardon Polka Band is anywhere near your average polka band. These folks are pros at livening up this traditional German dance music with by giving it a fun, contemporary spin. They’ve even been known to recreate songs from entertainers like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga into polka-pop masterpieces. We can’t wait to have this Cleveland-based band back for the second year in a row!
Tickets for Oktoberfest in Military Park are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets available at uplandoktoberfest.eventbrite.com.
