Beer and chocolate are both amazing on their own. But we partnered with local chocolatier, BLU Boy, and put them together for a divine experience. The first collaborative chocolate features the fruity jam from our Iridescent sour ale. These chocolates are exclusive to Upland and only available at the Wood Shop Brewery Thursdays through Sundays. (If they last until Sunday!)
“When Upland approached us to help showcase their new Iridescent Sour Beer, we were excited about the opportunity to collaborate with one of our favorite local breweries. Not to mention that this product is all about utilizing the ingredients most people wouldn’t even think to save, such as the pulp from the brewing process. Upland and BLU Boy are both Bloomington staples known for their high quality ingredients and innovative products, so this partnership was inevitable,” said Danielle Doyle, BLU Boy COO and Pastry Chef.
Our Executive Chef at the brewpub, Chris Swartzentruber, takes the Iridescent pulp and creates a jam, which we provide BLU Boy to fill their beautiful chocolates that combine dark chocolate and caramelized white chocolate.
So what’s next for Upland and BLU Boy? How does Boysenberry or Pawpaw filled chocolate sound? Stop by the Wood Shop soon for a beer and chocolate!
